The fourth 3-day capacity-building training on “Political Mobilization and Connectivity of Youth Activists of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa” was organized by KKF with the support of National Endowment for Democracy (NED). The Training was organized in Sheraton Guest House, DPO Chowk, Dera Ismail Khan 30th September 2022.
The training was the fourth training on this year which was organized for the southern districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The participants hailed from newly merged districts (NMDs), including South and North Waziristan, Dandola, Tank, Darazinda, Lucky Marwat, Bannu and Domail. Majority of the participants were social and political activists from the mentioned districts and areas. There were great diversity among the participants where along with students and political activists local poets and singers took part in the training. During the three day training they exhibited their experiences and activism under banners of the aforementioned forums. They committed to write articles and commentaries for Centre for Regional Policy & Dialogue (CRPD) – A project of KKF. They also posted their experiences of the training on their social media accounts and handles.
The training also provided opportunity for the participants to interact with local politicians, lawyers and journalists. They share contacts with them for future activism and interactions in this regard.
There were lectures/presentations, debates, discussions and the ‘group activities’ in the sessions. KKF distributed certificates amongst participants.
At the end of the training Mr. Shaukat Aziz – a famous Pashtun singer – sung songs for the participants where they formed traditional dance (attan).

Mr. Taimur Khan Marwat
Mr. Taimur Khan Marwat, ex-candidate for provincial assembly from Dera Ismail Khan.
Mr. Taimur Khan Marwat shared his experience, strategy and phases of election campaign with the training participants. He discussed the challenges he has faced during the election campaign in Dera Ismail Khan. He shared his experience of working with youth activists who were parting in his election campaign.
Mr. Khan Wali Khan
Khan Wali Khan, a local politician and member of ANP Dera Ismail Khan
Mr. Khan Wali Khan – is a seasoned politician and a well-known lawyer in Dera Ismail Khan. He has been organizing political gathering and event since very long. He is member of Awami National Party (ANP) in Dera Ismail Khan. He also carries his activism in South Waziristan.
Mr. Khan Wali briefly discussed the role of political activism of the southern districts in the political movements of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He shared that how Khudai Khidmat-gar organization (an affiliate organization of ANP) helped the flood victims in the recent flooding.
Mr. Wali told the participants that political activism by youth brings fresh energy with them, therefore they must participate in political activities along with their academic and career persuasion.
