Mr. Ilam Khan

Mr. Ilam Khan is an ethnographer who has extensively studied the post-conflict environment in Khyber Pashtunkhwa; including newly merged districts those were known as FATA. He has many research publications over different themes those focusing on civil society, non-violence and rehabilitation.

Mr. Ilam Khan has recently completed PhD degree at department of Peace and Conflict Studies in Center for International Peace and Stability (CIPS) at National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) and did his M. Phil in Political Science and International Relations from International Islamic University, Islamabad. He has been Research Fellow in the department of Political Science and Legal Studies at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, USA. He has served as Lecturer in Political Science in Education Department of Government of Khyber Pashtunkhwa. He also remained visiting faculty in the department of Political Science at International Islamic University Islamabad.

Mr. Ilam Khan has obtained trainings in his filed from renowned institutions; those included, (a) National Faculty Development Program at Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (b) Nonviolent Movements and Actions, at Asian Action Institute (AAI), Center for Social Change at Dulikhel, Nepal; (c) Community Based Participatory Research (CBPR), jointly organized by University of California, USA and School of Social Sciences at NUST; (d) United Nations Protection of Civilian Course-1 (UNPOCC-1) at Center for International Peace and Stability (CIPS), Pakistan; and, (e) Public Opinion Polling and Survey Research, at Gallup Pakistan, Islamabad.

He has a vast experience in different national and international non-governmental organizations and has been part of different research projects for 10 years; including, UN. His areas of interest are the indigenous approach to conflict management, resolution and rehabilitation; ethnography and participatory research; restorative justice; nonviolent movements and actions; nationalism and ethnicity.
