Hundreds of people have been killed or injured in a Pakistani army airstrike on a drug addiction treatment hospital in Kabul, Afghanistan. Since October 2025, approximately 10,000 containers carrying Afghan transit trade goods have remained stranded at Karachi Port following the closure of trade routes between Pakistan and Afghanistan. In January 2026, the Government of Pakistan directed Afghan traders to re-export these containers to their countries of origin.
According to Afghan transit traders, around 3,000 containers have been re-exported from Karachi Port to Dubai and other destinations. However, due to the ongoing conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran, these containers have been unable to reach their original destinations.
